Woodside, CA — June 4, 2018 — Woodside Horse Trials is thrilled to roll out new enhancements to the cross country course at the Horse Park at Woodside this summer.
These changes focus on Beginner Novice through Training level riders who will enjoy entirely new cross country tracks. The updated courses will wind down to the farthest water on the south side of the property, as course builder Bert Wood and his team renovate the top water complex over the summer.
“We’re going to blow it out. I’m going to take them back to the far water—They’ve never been back there, so that’s going to change a lot. We’ll give them a few new builds and give it a nice fresh look,” said Wood.
Dotted along the tracks will be brand-new jumps, offering unique challenges for Woodside competitors.
“It needs it. We haven’t really blown the courses up for the little guys in three or four years. We’ve kind of been running a similar track just moving a few things around. We’ll get them a few new jumps, different questions. We’ll take them down and let them gallop up the hill. It will be fun,” Wood said.
These enhancements will debut at The Summer Event at Woodside, held August 10-12, 2018. While these courses change, Wood and his team will work on expanding the upper water. It is estimated to be at least double its current size.
